Selling The City’s Jade Chan Reveals If She Really Plans To Sue Netflix
SPOILERS AHEAD
The first season of Selling The City, the New York City centered sister show to the immensely popular Selling Sunset, dropped on Friday, January 3, and the finale featured an explosive moment from star Jade Chan. In the spicy finale, fellow cast member Abi Godfrey confronts Chan about some tension between the two. Chan isn’t having any of it, and walks away. She continually asks for cameras to be cut, and repeatedly yells “f*ck you Netflix” and says if any of the confrontation airs, she will “sue every one of your a**es”.
Speaking to US Weekly, Chan backtracked on her heated finale moment, stating “No, I am not taking legal action”. She goes on to say, “I (actually want to) thank the producers for their beautiful way of still telling that story and still showcasing the spiciness that was there in that heated moment. They were very respectful in knowing what was right and wrong in regards to (what to include). Because there was much more to that scene than just the one minute that is shown. So I appreciate and respect them for that matter”.
Chan recounted to US Weekly that below the belt things were said by both parties and she is glad they were not aired for the world to see. Balancing their real life professions in real estate while also bringing enough drama for a reality show is a difficult balance, and it is understandable why some of the cast would get nervous about what will air in the final cut. Sounds like Chan will at least be back for season two, if the show is renewed. Season one is currently streaming on Netflix.
