Love is Blind producers accused of editing in Uche and Aaliyah's breakup
Love is Blind Season 5’s Uche Okoroha took to his instagram stories today to clear up some tricky editing on the part of producers in episode seven. When asked by a follower why he broke up with Aaliyah at their meeting, he responded “the ‘its over between us’ is a post production sound byte. At lunch we both forgave each other, we held hands and shared our first kiss. Then we agreed to date outside of the show.” This is not what we were shown in the episode. As viewers will know, we experienced the heartwrenching moment of Uche saying it’s over between us while Aaliyah looked on, devastated. However, upon reviewing the clip, it’s clear that the line '“it’s over between us” is a wild line and we do not actually see Uche’s mouth moving. This happens often in reality tv where a line from another part of the show is added in somewhere else for context. However, changing the entire course of a relationship with a wild line may be going too far.
Eagle eyed viewers also pointed out that in the preview for the season, shown at the beginning of episode one, Uche and Aaliyah are holding hands, seemingly confirming what Uche has said. No comment from Aaliyah or production thus far, but we will keep you updated.
