Love Is Blind S8’s “Mystery Ex” Of Lauren Has Been Revealed
Episode 7-9 Spoilers Ahead:
Episodes seven to nine of the eighth installment of Love Is Blind dropped on Friday, February 21 on Netflix, and one of the major dramatic plot points focused on engaged couple Dave and Lauren. Dave caught wind that Lauren had been seeing someone right before she began filming the show last February, and he was very uncomfortable with it. Lauren and Dave have already been having somewhat of a bumpy ride in getting to know each other, and this revelation did not help matters. To make it worse, the trailer reveals that this recent ex also lives in the same building as them. Lauren downplays the relationship saying it was very casual and they were not considered boyfriend and girlfriend. During a meeting with Lauren’s friends, she says she did not feel like she was hiding anything from him. Dave also states that he has connections to this mystery man. Lauren’s friends say they know the man and he dated one of their friends for seven years, but that they never hung out with him and Lauren, therefore proving he was not a boyfriend. They accuse the man of wanting to be on tv, stating that he sent DMs asking if they should “blow the wedding up”. Dave says he heard that Lauren was with the man the weekend before she began filming, which she denies. Dave has met this man before, multiple times, and they run in the same circle.
While they never name this “mystery man” on the show, the Reality Receipts Podcast exclusively revealed that his name is Daniel Nides. Nides is an attorney that was residing in Minneapolis at the time, and he recently took to his instagram (@gymtanlaw) to drop allllll the receipts. In his receipts, Nides shares that he was contacted by multiple Netflix and Kinetic employees to appear on the show. Clearly they saw an opportunity to exploit this drama and wanted to have him appear in some kind of confrontation with either Dave or Lauren or both of them. He refused, and also shared a letter he sent regarding how the filming of the show was disrupting his home life, as they were in his building. He also shared receipts of them filming in the area. Nides posted a snippet in which he appears to have filmed a podcast interview, however the Reality Receipts Podcast exclusively confirmed that the snippet was fake. However, Nides is allegedly planning to tell his side of the story soon. Nides has made multiple posts about the situation and even created his own “Love Is Blind” profile picture, which seems to confirm Lauren’s friend’s allegations that he is looking for the spotlight. Stay tuned for any updated information on his interview, and watch the rest of the story play out when the next Love Is Blind episodes drop on Friday.
